Table Mountain National Park, starting from Table Mountain - one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World - in Cape Town city center stretches all the way south on the Cape Peninsula to Cape Point Nature Reserve - Cape of Good Hope.
Cape of Good Hope - also known as the Cape of Storms - found at the south western most tip of Africa and was referred to back in 1580 by Sir Francis Drake as the "The Fairest Cape in all the World". This a world-famous nature reserve which is bound by the cold waters of the Atlantic in the west and the warm waters of False Bay in the east. With a diverse flora and fauna distribution the wildlife you can expect to find in this as the only fenced park in the range are Bontebok, Chacma Baboons, Eland, Red Hartebeest and Cape Mountain Zebra. Bird life including sea birds can be found in abundance and is quite interesting too, especially so when ostriches are found on the beach. The trip to the promontory from the Lighthouse with its spectacular views over False Bay can be undertaken on foot or by funicular. The Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre is a great space to learn about all the plants and animals to look out for in a particular season. It is also a haven for the outdoor enthusiast who enjoy hiking, surfing, angling, picnicking, beaching and cycling; against the spectacular backdrop of the mountains and coastline of the Cape Peninsula. Several of the activities are regulated and require permits, you can find more info here.
